The JW Marriott New Orleans is set to open an upscale music club that will feature jazz music the Big Easy is known for in July 2011. The hotel in the New Orleans French Quarter has partnered with Irvin Mayfield, a Grammy Award and Billboard Award-winning trumpeter, composer, arranger, University of New Orleans professor and businessman, who has made a commitment to expanding the city's cultural economy.
The new Irvin Mayfield I Club is meant to be a sophisticated music venue "where music is art". The music club will be found in the former Henri restaurant space of the New Orleans, LA, Canal Street hotel and will feature live music Wednesdays through Saturdays from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. It will offer exquisite cocktails, fine-dining small plates prepared by JW Marriott's executive chef, Lou Sander, and stellar service for the discerning guest.
The Irvin Mayfield I Club will present a diverse musical format from Blues, to Zydeco, to Gospel, to Funk, singer songwriters, Cabaret performers, DJs and more. Guests also can receive numerous VIP perks, such as concierge services, priority access, special offers and select New Orleans hotel deals and benefits, with the "I-nner Circle" membership program that will be available at the club.
